Besides many cognitive factors, past researchers have identified non-cognitive factors like parent involvement (Henderson and Mapp, 2002) and study habits (Siahi and Maiyo, 2015) of students as pertinent factors of educational achievement. When parent involvement and study habits both are related with achievement of students, the relation between the two drew the attention of researcher for the purpose of study owing to dearth of adequate past studies. The researcher conducted the present study in Ganjam district of Odisha because of its cultural rigidity and existence of gender related issues.
