Hundred twenty fingerlings of uniform size and weight were equally distributed in triplicate groups for four treatments at a stocking density of 10 fish per FRP tank of 500 litre capacity containing bore well water by following a complete randomized design. The fishes were fed with diet incorporated with mera-cid at varied levels such as treatment (T1) - basal diet containing probiotic at 1%, treatment (T2) at 1.5% and treatment (T3) at 2%. The FRP tanks without the application of probiotic are served as control (T0), where fishes were fed with basal diet only. The water quality parameters such as water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, free-carbon dioxide, total alkalinity, ammonia, nitrite nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen were analyzed. The water quality parameters were analyzed during the entire experimental periods and found to be congenial for the g
