520__|aThe rapid increased production of ceramic and glass materials require a high quality raw material. Quartz is a pure mineral that has a chemical formula SiO2 and is crystalline in nature. Crystallinity index parameter of quartz measures the degree of crystallinity as well as the distribution of minerals which in turn increases the quality of products. Moreover it is likely that the crystallinity index will prove to be a useful measure of the specific toxicity of and#945;-quartz which is becoming a risk factor for occupational exposure in industrial and mining sites leading to serious diseases like silicosis. In mineralogical study the spectroscopic estimation has been considered as powerful tool for its characterization and estimation of parameters. The major investigation of this study is lying in the following points: 1. The use of mineral resources of N.E. India for economic and industrial development of this region. 2. Spectroscopic estimation of crystallinity using IR spectra to investigate the purity o
