This project employed blood and urine to evaluate a number of biochemical markers and LPL PvuII, MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism. An increased level of HbA1c, hsCRP, homocysteine malondialdehyde, microalbuminuria and decreased eGFR levels appears to contribute for the development of CVD and stroke in T2DM patients. The results also indicated the possible role of inflammation with CVD/stroke events in diabetic patients. Evaluation of biochemical markers in T2DM patients is important for risk assessment of diabetic complications. The increased incidence of T2DM worldwide may also lead to increase in the number of people with CVD and stroke among T2DM patients. Routine measurements of blood and urine biochemical markers may play a crucial role to prevent or reduce the incidence of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in diabetic patients. The gene polymorphism d
