| 520 | __ | |anewlineA comprehensive and meticulous study of the avian diversity within the Pong Dam Lake Wildlife Sanctuary located in District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, was undertaken between July 2021 and June 2023, employing the stratified random sampling methodology. The primary emphasis of these investigations revolved around assessing the present status of avian populations in the region. The habitat use pattern, feeding habits, residential status, relative abundance status, IUCN conservation status and IUCN global population trend, of each recorded avian species, were assessed. Additionally, an effort was made to identify and understand the conservation needs of bird species in the region. |
