River sand -bentonite mixtures are commonly used as a liner material in secured waste containment systems. The present rate of sand mining exceeding replenishment rate can have far-reaching social and environmental implications. Sustainably managing the natural resources is becoming increasingly crucial as the world is working collectively to meet the Sustainability development goals (SDGs). So, in the present study sustainable material, manufactured sand (M sand) is used as an alternative to river sand in the usual liner soil. In the study, suitability of compacted M sand-bentonite (BMS) as liner material was investigated by comparing its properties with River sand Bentonite mixtures (BRS) and Sundried marine clay (SMC). The properties and behavior of the mix varied depending upon the proportion of sand and ben
