The air-sea interface works as the main exchange centre for the momentum, heat and water vapour fluxes which influence the weather and climate. The primary regulator of the Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM) s internal variability and dynamics are linked to the ocean-atmosphere coupled processes. The thesis has four main objectives, two of which are concerned with the Monsoon Onset over Kerala (MOK), one of which is the evaluation of the impact of monsoon intra-seasonal oscillations and southern Indian Ocean (IO) dynamics on the 2018 Kerala extreme rainfall event, and the final objective is to comprehend how the ISMs onset and active phases change in a warming environment. |
