Catalyst is key to the selectivity and efficiency of hydrogenation reactions; they not only enable you to produce the desired hydrocarbon product, but also ensure an economical process. Catalysts come in several forms and have been developed for many applications, including selective hydrogenation catalysis. The significance of the catalyst supports and the influence of the support properties on the catalyst properties and the performance of the reaction is studied in this work. A chapter of this work also discuss about the significance of the catalyst shapes in the fixed bed reactor system by focusing on the impact of the catalyst shapes on the fixed bed pressure drop and hence the catalyst life. The impact of different metal or non-metal addition in the catalyst promotes the catalytic performance in selective hydrogenation reaction. The pr
