Railway is a major source of ground vibration in areas adjacent to the track structures. During ground vibration, major transfer of energy occurs in the form of Rayleigh surface waves. In the case of high-speed railway, dynamic amplification of ground vibration during train movement can happen in soft soil deposits, depending on the Rayleigh wave (R-wave) velocity of the ground. This makes the Rayleigh wave velocity a significant parameter in analysing ground vibration. This research focuses on the investigation of the ground vibration induced by semi high to high-speed railways in the context of Rayleigh wave propagation in the soil medium. Considering the R-wave velocity of soil as a separate dynamic soil property, its accurate det |
