At high frequencies, metallic antennas are characterized by less efficiency due to conduction loss. In highfrequency communication, owing to the absence of conductor loss and surface waves, the dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) replaces the conventional metallic antenna. Reduced size, easiness of integrating with active circuits, high Q, high power handling capacity, etc. are the added advantages of DRA. DRA can be excited by different methods and metallic waveguide can be effectively used to feed the DRA. However, the efficient coupling for low permittivity DRA is a hurdle for the waveguide-fed DRA. This research work investigates innovative and simple methods in the design and development of waveguide-fed dielectric resonator antennas for excellent coupling efficiency. Dual-band antenna is cost-effective, as it can be used instead of multiple antennas and this researc |
