This study was undertaken to analyse the cost and return of milk productions in the districts of Tamil Nadu. The respondents were clustered into 5 groups on the basis of the size of their lands and those groups were namely, landless, marginal, small, medium and large farmers. The study found that the milk producers covered by private dairy produced slightly higher profits as compared to the farmers of cooperative dairy, because milch animals were better taken care and fed by the farmers of private dairy, which resulted in higher milk productivity. Dairying in India, in particular, is interwoven as a critical part and accessory to agriculture, but it did not get as much attention as crop production, because crop production has much more merits when compared to dairy production.newlineThere may be a strong need to pay attention on e |
