Ovarian carcinoma is a universal problem, is usually diagnosed at the late stage and has no effective screening strategy. Standard treatments for carcinoma diagnosis consist of platinum-based chemotherapy and cytoreductive surgery. In recurrent carcinoma, anti-angiogenic agents, chemotherapy, and poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase inhibitors are used, and immunological therapies are presently being tested.
