520 | __ | |aStress is an important factor which can influence all aspects of a human life and stressors have changed over years but human physiology remains the same. Noise is a stressor produces oxidative stress due to increased formation of oxidants, resulting in changes in cell membrane lipid functions, damage of proteins and significant decrease in intracellular antioxidant defense mechanisms in affecting different parts of the brain, leading to degeneration of neurons. This is to show that natural antioxidant mechanism is inefficient and therefore nutritional consumption of antioxidant compounds is important. The aim of the study is focused to evaluate whether the pretreatment of the ethanolic extract of Nelumbo nucifera (NnE) and quercetin (QRCT) prevents noise induced alterations in plasma corticosterone (CORT) levels in behavior, anxiety state and memory impairement, free radical scavenging enzymes/antioxidants, Heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) and c-fos gene expression in the various regions of brain namely media |
