Nevertheless, the complexity of investment casting is typically described qualitatively and a thorough quantitative assessment of this complexity is lacking. This study undertakes the task of recognizing key characteristics that contribute to the complex nature of producing investment castings and establishing a quantitative measurement for this complexity. newlineFor the development of the proposed index, more than 50 castings were gathered from diverse investment casting foundries situated in the Rajkot cluster during an industrial survey.
