520__|aThe objective of this study is to examine the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves in ferrite loaded layered structures. In this work, the propagation characteristics of various hybrid structures with ferrite film as one of the components have been subjected to rigorous analysis and computations. The hybrid structures are formed by different kinds of combinations of ferrite films with films of high temperature superconductors, linear dielectrics and nonlinear dielectrics of general nonlinearity. The structures considered are a standalone ferrite film, ferrite/ dielectric/ferrite, ferrite/superconductor/ferrite, ferrite/superconductor, superconductor/ferrite/superconductor, ferrite/dielectric/superconductor, nonlinear dielectric substrate/ferrite/nonlinear dielectric cladding, ferrite substrate/nonlinear dielectric cladding, ferrite substrate/nonlinear ferroelectric and microstrip structures with ferrite substrate. Using Maxwell s equations, dispersion relations corresponding to electromagnet
