520__|aThis study examines the role of the HR function in large Indian IT services organizations adopting a Cybernetic Approach. The boom in the IT sector in India has created a growing army of affluent Indian IT professionals, who along with a significant economic growth also face a multitude of problems and challenges in their personal and professional space. The HR function which is responsible for these resources and which interacts with them is often blamed for their tribulations. The focus of this study was to understand the challenges faced due to the interface between IT professionals and HRD unit without bias. The primary objective was to conduct a diagnostic critique, of the complex HR challenges using the Viable System Model (VSM), and to undertake a field survey for analysis of the IT Professional and HR interface, which provides the basis for conducting the review using the Management Cybernetic model.newline
