520 | __ | |aUrolithiasis is a condition of development of stones in the urinary tract. It is one of the common disorders of the urinary tract challenging the mankind from antiquity. Pharmacotherapy and surgical approaches although available for management of urolithiasis, the treatment outcomes remain unsatisfactory because of the untoward effects and/or limitations. In addition, recurrence is a major unaddressed issue in these patients. Use of natural products as medicinal agents is well-appreciated by the medical fraternity as they are easily accessible, economical, and considered to be safe. Considering the challenges/limitations with existing treatment options and the potentiality in natural products to emerge as safe and effective antilithiatic agents, we performed a research activity to identify the plants products, especially those used as vegetables and evaluate their antilithiatic activity.
