520__|aImpingement jets are often used where high rate of heat transfer are recommended. Jet impingement forms a flow field that gives rise to higher localized heat transfer rate over a surface area for cooling or heating. Impingement jets are used in a wide variety of applications such as cooling of turbine blades, electronic cooling, annealing of metal and plastic sheets, drying of paper and textiles etc. The present study aims at finding the flow and heat transfer characteristics of single-slot jet, three-slot jet and five-slot jet impinging on a flat surface.newlineThe broad objectives and scope of the work is to conduct flow visualization experiments for all the three jet configurations in order to understand the flow features, to investigate the effect of varying H/D ( jet -to -plate spacing ratio, where H is jet - to- plate spacing and D is hydraulic diameter of slot) and Reynolds number (Re) on flow and heat transfer characteristics and compare flow and heat transfer characteristics between single jet and
