520__|aAvian reproduction is reported to be regulated by external and internal factors. The external factors include photoperiod, food, temperature, rainfall etc. while internal factors are neurotransmitters, neuropeptides, hormones, biological clock etc. To understand the effects and interactions of photoperiod (day length, colour, intensity) and temporal synergism of neural oscillations present study was designed with following specific objectives- 1. To compare the effect of different photoperiods (PTM) and specific temporal phase relation of serotonergic and dopaminergic oscillations on gonadal responses of Japanese quail. 2. To study the effect of specific temporal phase relations of circadian neural oscillations on short and long day responses. 3. To study the effect of agonist and antagonist of serotonin and catecholamine on the reproductive responses. 4. To investigate the effect and interaction of different light colours intensity and temporal synergism of neural oscillations. The thesis has been divided
