In this thesis, I investigate a few noteworthy aspects of the intraseasonalnewlinevariability of the Indian summer monsoon in connection to midlatitude upper level circulation. Inewlineconducted several dynamical and statistical analyses, and sensitivity simulations with a regionalnewlinemodel, to this end. The Indian summer monsoon rainfall (ISMR) is essentially a primary source ofnewlinebasic human life and a long-standing source of reliance for the Indian economy. My primary focusnewlinein this research is on the initiation and development of a break phase, as well as the revival ofnewlineactive conditions following a break phase over the Indian subcontinent.
